Get to know the calm waters, beautiful vistas, and distinctive culture of the Mekong Delta with 2 days in one of the country's most dynamic regions. Known as the rice bowl of Vietnam, the area offers a diverse collection of markets, canals, and villages for you to explore.
Depart from your hotel in the morning for the drive to Ben Tre and your first look at the delta. Here, you board a small boat and meander through the canals and waterways. Stop at a small coconut processing plant to see how coconuts are turned into oil, candy, or woven mats, and then take a short walk to a local village to see mat weavers at work.
An auto-rickshaw ride takes you down country roads to the pier, where you board the beautiful teak boat Le Jarai to continue your cruise along the river. Join in a demonstration of Vietnamese cooking before a sumptuous 3-course lunch, and then relax on the top deck and take in the scenery on the way back to Ben Tre and your late-afternoon transfer to Can Tho for your overnight stay.
It's an early start to the day as you go by boat to Can Tho's floating market, where you can experience the flurry of vendors trading their wares as boats teeming with fruit, vegetables, and household goods ply the waters. Next, it's off to travel back to Ho Chi Minh City as your tour comes to a close.
