Hideaway Café Saigon

Ho Chi Minh Coffee Shop

Hideaway Cafe Saigon is one of the most attractive coffee shops in Ho Chi Minh. Housed in a canary yellow French villa, it’s the kind of place you would never know was there if you didn’t look for it. The coffee shop is located a small alley on Pham Ngoc Thach Street, which is about a five-minute walk from the Turtle Lake roundabout in District 3.

You enter Hideaway Café Saigon through a gate and into a central courtyard. Either side, there are period buildings with high ceilings and small opulent touches redolent of the French colonial period. We recommend tables in the house at the front (even though this is the restaurant section).

Hideaway Café Saigon Highlights

We think that it is far more attractive inside, with art hanging on both floors and bare floorboards. If you don’t mind the heat, take a seat on the second floor balcony. This section is ideal for those looking to enjoy each other’s company in private. In case you fancy a bite to eat, Hideaway Café Saigon offers a wide range of western and Asian dishes throughout the day.

Breakfast is served from 08:00 until 11:00. We enjoyed the Eggs Benedict (VND 140,000), which consists of poached eggs, toasted English muffins, sautéed mushrooms, and your choice of ham or smoked salmon. If you prefer sweet over savoury dishes, try its maple pancakes with fresh fruit (VND 85,000). For drinks, Hideaway Café Saigon’s mocha latte (VND 65,000) comes highly recommended. You can also opt for its signature cocktails, which cost between VND 95,000 and VND 105,000).

Hideaway Cafe Saigon opens until late every day, making it a popular hangout spot amongst travellers looking to escape the heat and traffic in Ho Chi Minh City.
