It is easy to get to Hai Phong thanks to the transportation options available. Visitors can travel by road; National Highway No. 10 connects Hai Phong to the provinces of Thanh Hoa, Thai Binh and Quang Ninh.
Tourists coming from Hanoi may utilize the railway, since there are trains going to Hai Phong from Hanoi and vice versa. Those who want to travel by boat can ride on the ferries that dock daily on Ben Binh Street. Lastly, travelling by plane is also possible due to connecting flights to Ho Chi Minh City that depart from Cat Bi Airport.
Hai Phong is located near the East Sea, which is why its weather is characterized by tropical monsoons. The northeast monsoon season is from November to April, while the south-eastern monsoon season is from May to October. Rain falls in Hai Phong even during the summer months and the best time to go is between November and March.
Hai Phong visitors should know that not everyone understands English and it may be a safe place, but this does not mean walking alone at night is encouraged.
